Edwin: St. John's is magnificent city to visit but for me it does not suit my criteria of calling it home. One of the main reasons is the weather. It is too cold with the highest average temperature in July and August not going over 20 degrees Celsius. Also, it precipitates frequently in St. John's which means moist air - which I also don't like. Another reason is that St. John's is on an island isolated from the rest of Canada which can potentially limit the interactions between my friends who lets say live in Montreal. The economic activities are also not the type I would pursue in the future. Despite the my points above, I would definitely visit St. John's , there are so many activities and sights to enjoy!
Danny: I personally would LOVE to live in St. John's for 2 reasons. The first reason being is for my future careers. Currently, Toronto's unemployment rates are rising. This will naturally bring forth stiff competitions, making it harder for myself to be employed and to live my long-awaited substantial settlement with my dear family. However, by moving to St. John's it will ease up the competition around job opportunities, especially with their numerous industries around many different fields. Thus, it would allow me to secure my job placement easier than I would have in Toronto.
Secondly, I love the idea of living out of the city. To escape the terrible, polluted air, and into the fresh, natural environment where I can proudly call, home. By living in St. John's, the fresh ocean airs are not the only specs you can enjoy. The beautiful oceans surrounding the entire province will hold spectacular views I can enjoy when I'm older... because that's what old people like to do I guess. However, the best part comes from the colorful, antique houses on many streets of St. John's. With its old history surrounding every home, it will be worth every penny. With its higher employment to secure my future family, along with its magnificent, natural atmospheres, I believe St. John's is the place to be :)
